The Utah Folk Orchestra is a growing community of musicians who come together to play gorgeous folk and bluegrass music from Celtic, Old Time, Norwegian, French Canadian, and Bluegrass traditions. We're open to all instruments and all skill levels — readers and ear players alike. In our large ensemble, everyone blends together into something that sounds genuinely beautiful. Opening for Joy in Rhythm July 10, 2026
Utah Folk Orchestra is heading downtown! We've been invited to open for Joy in Rhythm, a festive community dance celebration at the Gallivan Center, and we couldn't be more excited.
We'll be playing unamplified on the dance floor starting at 6:00 PM, kicking off an evening that includes a square dance with Trash Moon Collective, a swing dance lesson, and a full dance set with Hot House West Swing Orchestra. Food trucks, a Kids Zone, and art vendors round out the night — it's a true community celebration!
Doors open at 6:00 PM. Our set runs until 6:55 PM.
